Botox Cosmetic is a simple, nonsurgical, physician administered treatment that can temporarily smooth moderate to severe glabellar lines (frown lines). It is the only treatment of its type approved by the Food & Drug Administration (FDA). Botox is also used to treat crow's feet (lines around the eyes) and upper-lip lines.
Botox typically lasts from three to four months, however duration of effects will vary from patient to patient. You will notice a gradual fading of its effects and it is best to schedule your next Botox treatment after the return of muscle activity begins.
Occasionally, hyperactive muscles require a "booster" treatment. Additional Botox will be charged on a cost per unit basis.
After your first Botox treatment at U Boutique and Med Spa, an Injectable Follow-Up appointment is strongly recommended. This allows the practitioner to see your results and make refinements, which is very important in optimizing your results.
After your Botox Treatment
Avoid
Placing ice packs over treated areas
Pressing, rubbing or massaging treated areas for 24 hours
Wearing tight fitting headbands or hats for 24 hours
Strenuous exercise for 24 hours
Aspirin and Ibuprofin, which may cause bruising following your Botox treatment
Results are expected within 24 hours to one week after injection. A bump or swelling often accompanied by a needle stick mark is usually present for aproximately two hours at each injection site.
Mild, localized tenderness, aching, and heaviness at the treatment sites is normal.
You may gently wash your face after your Botox treatment.
You may return to light activity immediately after your Botox treatment.
