Laser Hair Reduction
Laser Hair Reduction is a procedure that uses an intense beam of pulsating light to remove unwanted hair. The laser targets the melanin, or dark pigment, in the hair and the intense heat destroys a percentage of the follicles, which are permanently destroyed with each treatment. For best results, Laser Hair Reduction requires multiple sessions, each session a minimum of 6 weeks apart.

A consultation with our medical practitioner is required before your laser hair reduction treatment. During your consultation, your skin will be examined to determine if you are a candidate for this procedure.

Before your Laser Hair Reduction Treatment

Discontinue waxing, tweezing, and use of depilatories in the areas to be treated for 4 weeks prior to your treatment (you may only shave the areas to be treated)

Avoid taking antibiotics. Please reschedule your laser hair reduction appointment for 10 days after your last dosage.

Avoid use of AHAs, glycolic acids, retinols or any topical exfoliants for 5 days before your treatment.

Day of your Laser Hair Reduction Treatment

Shave the area to be treated. If treating the bikini area, trim the hair that will remain.

30 to 45 minutes prior to your treatment, apply your topical numbing cream generously to the area to be treated. Wash your hands immediately after application.

If you have a suntan or sunburn, you will need to reschedule your appointment for when the irritation is completely resolved. Suntanned skin may result in a slower progress in hair reduction.

After your Laser Hair Reduction Treatment

You may notice redness and bumps at the treatment site, which may last up to 2 hours or longer. The treated area may feel like a sunburn for a few hours. Apply a cold compress as needed.

You may shower after your treatment in tepid water.

After your laser hair reduction treatment, you may apply 100% mineral makeup

For the next 2 to 7 days following your treatment, you may develop a fine crust over the treated area. Keep the area clean with gentle washing 2 times a day using gentle soap and continue until crusting disapears.

Avoid AHAs, glycolic acids, retinols or any topical exfoliants for 4 to 5 days or until all crusting is gone.

Avoid sun exposure and use SPF 30+ sunblock daily for at least 6 weeks after each treatment.

Avoid picking or scratching the treated area

Underarm areas that have been treated should be wiped with alcohol frequently for 24 hours. You may apply deodorant after 24 hours.

Use moisturizer without alpha-hydroxy acids frequently to help the dead hair to exfoliate from the follicle.
