Photofacial
Photofacial (IPL) is a series of pulsed light treatments that effectively combats the effects of aging and improves the appearance of facial redness and sun damaged skin. Benefits of Photofacial include, improvement in facial redness, rosacea, sun damage, and irregular pigmentation. Photofacial also improves skin texture, tone and reduces pore size and can be used on the face, neck, chest and hands.
A consultation with our medical practitioner is required before your Photofacial (IPL) treatment. During your consultation, your skin will be examined to determine if you are a candidate for this procedure. A prescription for Hydroquinone may be required to be used 4 weeks prior to treatment.
Before your Photofacial Treatment
Avoid photosensitizing treatments such as AHAs, glycolic acids, retinols or any topical exfoliants, for 5 days prior to treatment.
Avoid taking antibiotics. Please reschedule your photofacial appointment for 10 days after your last dosage.
Day of your Photofacial Treatment
30 to 45 minutes prior to your treatment, apply your topical numbing cream generously to the area to be treated. Wash your hands immediately after application.
If you have a suntan or sunburn, you will need to reschedule your appointment for when the irritation is completely resolved.
After your Photofacial Treatment
Following your treatment you may apply 100% mineral makeup.
Skin may be cleansed with a mild, non AHA cleanser. TNS Recovery Complex is recommended to keep skin moistured.
Use of SPF 30+ sunblock daily is required
Avoid use of AHAs, glycolic acids, retinols or any topical exfoliants for 4 to 5 days.
Darkening of brown pigment is normal and shows that your treatment is working. Scheduling a Microdermabrasion or ex an foliation treatment 7 days after your Photofacial treatment can reduce this effect
