Travel Tips for Glowing Skin

TRAVEL TIPS-WEB

Are you traveling so much that your frequent flyer miles are showing up on your face? Plane travel can take a toll on your skin, and with the holidays coming up, you are probably going to be spending more time in the air then you’d like.

Today, I’m going to give you a few skin care tips to keep your skin glowing and radiant for when you step off the plane.

One Word: Moisturize

The dry, recycled air on planes can seriously suck the moisture out of your skin. Focusing on moisturizing from both the inside and outside is the key to keeping you looking fresh-faced and glowing.

You should begin your travel day by applying an extra rich moisturizer to your face and body.

Your skin needs water in order to retain moisture, so drink up! Once you’re past security, buy a big bottle of water and drink as much of it as you can on the plane. Also, try to score an aisle seat for easy access to the bathroom.

Cut back on alcohol, caffeine, and salty foods as much as possible while traveling, because these are dehydrating and can further dry out your skin.

Pack a travel-sized hydrating spray in your carry-on (I love plain rose water) and mist onto your skin once an hour to add hydration to your skin’s surface.

Wear Sunblock

When you are flying, you are much closer to the sun, and the solar rays that come through the airplane windows are intense. Apply a sunblock with at least SPF 30, at least 30 minutes before boarding. If you have a window seat, pull down the shade once the plane gets in the air.

Catch some Zzzs

Give your skin the rest it needs and try and get some sleep on the plane. I ALWAYS pack an eye mask and some earplugs in my carry-on. I also recently discovered CozyPhones which are headphones that are so comfortable you can sleep in them. I just bluetooth some white noise from my iPhone to my CozyPhones and I’m out like a light!

I hope you have fabulous and safe travels over the holidays! And if you want some extra primping before you see your family and friends, give us a call at 972-943-8633 to book an appointment or book online here!
