If you just spend two minutes googling key words like “fake botox”, you face an unfortunate reality that many offices operate with unethical practices. The good news is that these cosmetic treatments are generally considered safe with minimal side effects if you receive it from a licensed medical facility with licensed and trained providers. This is why it is important to choose your med spa carefully.

Questions to ask when choosing a med spa

• Are the providers licensed Plastic Surgeons, Physician Assistants, Nurse Practitioners, or Registered Nurses? State of Texas is one of the few states in the nation that allows non-medical professionals such as aestheticians and cosmetologists to perform Botox and filler injections as long as they are under a physician’s oversight. While complications are not common, they can happen, and you want to make sure that you are under the care of medical providers who understand how to treat complications.
