Regenerative Treatments: The Future of Healthy, Strong Skin
Regenerative treatments have quickly become some of the most sought-after procedures in aestheticsâand for good reason. These treatments stimulate your skinâs natural production of collagen and elastin, helping to rebuild a stronger, healthier foundation over time.
At U Med Spa, serving the Plano and Frisco area, we offer advanced regenerative injectables like Sculptra and PRF EZ Gel. These treatments can help restore volume in areas such as the under-eyes and temples, strengthen the skin, and improve overall firmness and elasticity.
We also offer Microneedling with Growth Factors, a next-level regenerative treatment that enhances skin rejuvenation even further.
What Is Regenerative Microneedling?
Regenerative Microneedling combines the power of microneedling with the healing properties of growth factors. During treatment, tiny needles create controlled micro-injuries in the skin, stimulating your bodyâs natural repair process. Growth factors are then applied topically and infused through these micro-channels, amplifying collagen production and healing.

What Are Growth Factors?
Growth factors are naturally occurring proteins in the body that play a key role in maintaining healthy, resilient skin. They stimulate fibroblast activity, help repair tissue damage, and promote the production of collagen and elastinâtwo essential components for youthful, firm skin.
Benefits of Adding Growth Factors to Microneedling
Infusing growth factors during microneedling enhances results and shortens recovery time. Patients often notice skin that feels more hydrated, smooth, and radiant compared to traditional microneedling alone.
While standard microneedling can leave the skin red and sensitive for a few days, adding growth factors typically reduces downtime to just 1â2 days.
Are All Growth Factors the Same?
Not all growth factors are created equal. Many products on the market vary in quality and manufacturing standards, which can impact their efficacy and safety. At U Med Spa in the Plano and Frisco area, we use two medical-grade options for our microneedling treatments: PRF (Plasma-Rich Fibrin) and Ariessence Pure PDGF+.
PRF (Plasma-Rich Fibrin)
PRF is derived from your own blood. During treatment, our licensed phlebotomist or nurse draws a small sample and processes it in a centrifuge to isolate a fibrin matrix rich in platelets, white blood cells, and growth factors.
Because PRF comes from your own body, results can vary depending on your overall health and lifestyle. Patients who maintain a balanced diet and healthy habits often experience stronger results.
Ariessence Pure PDGF+
Ariessence Pure PDGF+ is a pharmaceutical-grade growth factor product created using recombinant technology. It is the same FDA-approved formula used safely for over 15 years in bone augmentation procedures, with more than 5 million patients treated.
Unlike PRF, PDGF does not rely on your bodyâs biologyâso results are consistent every time. It also contains up to 300,000 times the growth factor concentration found in other topical options, such as exosomes.
What Does the Treatment Process Involve?
Please arrive 30 minutes before your appointment for topical numbing.
- If receiving Microneedling with PRF: our licensed phlebotomist will draw your blood and prepare your PRF while you are numbing.
- If choosing PDGF: no additional preparation is required.
The microneedling session itself takes about 30 minutes. Growth factors are applied topically during treatment, so they do not add extra time. Afterward, youâll receive detailed aftercare instructions and a soothing post-treatment mask to take home.
How Long Is the Downtime?
Microneedling typically causes mild redness, swelling, and sensitivity for a few days. When growth factors are added, downtime is often cut in halfâmost patients see redness and swelling resolve within 1â2 days.
How Long Do Results Last?
New collagen and elastin continue to build over time, with results lasting up to six months. For anti-aging and maintenance, we recommend quarterly treatments.
Can You Add Growth Factors to Other Treatments?
Absolutely. Ariessence Pure PDGF+ can also be applied during laser treatments such as Moxi or COâ resurfacing to enhance results and speed recoveryâparticularly for ablative lasers with longer downtime.
