Dynamic wrinkles
Dynamic wrinkles are the wrinkles that form when you make facial expressions. Most common dynamic wrinkles are the following:
- Forehead lines
- Frown lines
- Crow’s feet
Static wrinkles
Static wrinkles are the lines and folds on our faces that don’t go away even when we are not making facial expressions. If left untreated, dynamic wrinkles ultimately become static lines.
How Preventative Botox works
Preventing fine lines and wrinkles is much easier than reversing them.
Botox limits muscle movements while still allowing you to express yourself. Limited muscle movements reduce dynamic wrinkles creating a smoother appearance and prevent static wrinkles from forming. Key is starting the treatments before you form static wrinkles. Most people begin between the age of 25 to early 30s

Botox freezes your face
A
Botox works by limiting your muscle movements. However, it does not have to completely freeze your expressions. With the right technique by experienced providers, Botox should limit your muscles just enough to smooth your dynamic wrinkles but still allow you to express yourself! Communicate your Botox expectations with your provider before the treatment.

Once you start, you cannot stop

Botox only limits your muscle movements temporarily, typically lasting anywhere between 3 to 6 months. When you stop Botox treatments, your muscles simply return to their normal movement and your wrinkles will return as well. Your muscle movements do not get stronger if you stop the treatments.

Botox treatments are not safe
A
Botox has been FDA approved for 20 years and have been broadly used with very minimal side effects and complications. The most common side effects include bruising and very mild redness/swelling at injection sites. Most side effects dissipate after the first 2 weeks. Botox is also commonly used in medical setting for treating migraine and TMJ pain.
