Is Skinvive technically a filler?

Technically, yes, because it is made of hyaluronic acid. However, it functions very differently from traditional dermal fillers.
Traditional dermal fillers are designed to add contour, lift cheeks, define jawline, augment chin, or plump lips
Skinvive is designed strictly for skin quality. It does not change your facial structure or add “bulk.” It simply makes the skin over your cheeks look smoother and more hydrated

Contraindications
You may not be a candidate for Skinvive if you have the following conditions:
— Pregnant or breastfeeding
— Active infection in the treatment area(s)
— Allergy to lidocaine
— Any dental procedure or vaccines before and after 2 weeks of filler appointment
— Any antibiotics 2 weeks before the appointment
BEFORE THE APPOINTMENT
Before your Skinvive treatment, avoid taking blood-thinning medications such as Ibuprofen, Advil®, Motrin®, Nuprin®, Aleve®, Celebrex®, Fish oil, Ginko Biloba, St. John’s Wort and high doses of vitamin E for 7 days prior to procedure, as these may cause increase risk of bleeding and bruising. Regular multi-vitamin and Tylenol® is permitted (If not contraindicated)
Avoid alcohol for 24 hours prior to Skinvive as this can increase the risk for bleeding and bruising
You may take Tylenol® (if not contraindicated) one hour before your Skinvive treatment to ease your anxiety and discomfort if you have any concerns
Eat a small meal or some snacks before your Skinvive appointment
Avoid dental procedures (including cleaning) 2 weeks pre and 2 weeks post your appointment
AFTER THE TREATMENT
Bruising and swelling is common after the Skinvive treatment, especially for the first 24-48 hours, and can last up to 2 weeks
You may apply cold compresses to reduce swelling and take Tylenol (if not contraindicated) to help with any discomfort
Avoid makeup for at least 4 hours to avoid any chance of infection
Avoid touching / rubbing your face the day of treatment
Avoid strenuous exercise for 48 hours to prevent moving the Skinvive or increasing blood flow to the face
Avoid dental procedure (including cleaning) 2 weeks post treatment
